Club team and jersey number
Coaches scout at club tournaments. Always include your club name, team, and jersey number so they can find you on court.
Share your schedule
Before big tournaments, send an event email with dates, location, and court assignments when you have them.
Numbers coaches look for
Height, standing reach, approach and block touch are common for volleyball. Include them only if measured recently and accurately.
Video
Use skill clips for your position plus some full rallies. Put your best clips first and note your jersey number.
FAQ
When should I email before a tournament?
About one to two weeks ahead, then a short reminder with court info if you have it.
Should I include club director contact?
Yes, if your club director agrees. Coaches often contact club directors directly.
When can college coaches reply to recruiting emails?
You can email a coach at any age. When a coach is allowed to reply depends on the NCAA division and sport, and many Division I sports cannot send personal recruiting messages until June 15 after sophomore year or later. Check the current NCAA recruiting calendar for your sport. Silence early on is often a rules issue, not a lack of interest.
How long should a recruiting email be?
Short. Aim for something a coach can read in under a minute: who you are, why their program, your key numbers, a film link, and how to reach you.
